What We Believe

BeliefsGod is the Father Almighty, He is the creator of all. He is holy, just, omnipotent, omnipresent, omniscient, always was, is and always will be. Jesus is God, He is the Son of God, He is the Word of God, He is love. He suffered and died for us, for the forgiveness of our sins. He was resurrected on the third day, defeating death and Satan, securing eternal life for those who believe in Him. He will return in glory. The Holy Spirit is God, and is sent as our Comforter and Guide. The Trinity is three separate and distinct persons yet united as one. It is made up of God the Father, The Son and the Holy Spirit.

The Bible is the holy and infallible Word of God. It was divinely inspired. It is simple enough for a child to understand, yet so deep that scholars cannot fully fathom its depths. It should be read daily. Grace is the absolutely free gift of eternal life through faith in Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. "God so loved the world that He gave His only Son that whosoever shall believe in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life." We don't deserve it, we cannot pay for or earn it "lest any man should boast".

Sanctification, the "working out of our salvation", is through the power of the Holy Spirit as Christ transforms us to be more like Him. Gifts of the Holy Spirit are evidenced today but never cause one to act in a manner contrary to the FRUITS of the Holy Spirit, "and the greatest of these is love".

Christians are one in the body of Jesus Christ. We are called upon to live our lives as Christ did; to be a light to the world and that Christ's love should be shown through that light. We are called upon to spread the word of Christ throughout the world, the message of salvation and grace. We need to preach by doing.

We, as Christians, are to gather together in worship and praise to God. We are to edify, uplift and encourage each other in our walk.
